The time has finally come! After 5 years of being asked to release a Footlock instructional, I have decided now is the time! I was first introduced to this submission by my friend Mikey Musumeci in 2018, and since then I have hit this submission at the highest level of competition.
In this instructional, I make a clear differentiation between the ankle lock and the footlock. I also show the variation which i like to call the Doederlock! I truly believe the footlock is a powerful submission, similar to any joint like an armbar. The breaking and adjusting mechanics are not as commonly known, so most people find it hard to finish.
In this course, I will not only show you how to perfect this submission, but also how to play the footlock as a guard as well! I believe this is a game changing attack to add to anyone’s game! Especially for people who like to play guards where they get under their partners base.

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR
Isaac Doederlein is an American Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt under the legendary Rubens Charles, also known as “Cobrinha”.
Isaac began his martial arts journey ~18 years ago, when his mother signed him on her church’s group judo program at the age of 11. Doederlein stuck to the course up until his 14th birthday when he moved to Arizona opting to join a jiu-jitsu academy. At the age of 18, one month after finishing High School, Isaac Doederlein decided to invest everything into his passion, and move to Los Angeles. His goal was to train under Cobrinha full time, in hopes to fulfill a life’s dream of becoming a World Champion.
